The lady at Peter Maturi in Leeds, certainly answered the questions we asked with confidence. The Jura Impressa F70 after a little haggling was ours and we left the store happy. Getting it home, the set up was fairly straight forward and having read the instructions to the letter, our first home made frothy coffee was a reality. Sturdy, simple to use, yet capable of handling a variety of different settings to suit taste, this machine has certainly proved to be the best we have ever bought. Time will tell of course, when the novelty wears off, but for the moment, we are really impressed with the results. We especially like not having to fiddle about loading coffee granules; this one having its own built in grinder that delivers freshly ground coffee with each cup. Lattes, Espressos, Cappuccino. All simple to make at the press of a button. It even comes with a built in timer, so you can set it to wake up, warm and be ready to serve before you get out of bed on a morning. Not the cheapest on the market, but we think one of the best.
I actually thought the quality of the beverages it produces are less than half the quality for a lot of things you can get for 1/10th of the price. Jura’s are notoriously machines I advise people to stay clear of for their ridiculously poor price-to-performance ratio.
Time will tell Greg as we experiment with various beans. We’ve not quite gone the full hog to roast our own, but have found a good supplier. http://www.hasbean.com/ The machine is certainly expensive, although we did manage to get quite a discount. We’re very happy so far but watch this space as we don’t hold back if things go wrong.
PS. I like your website and plan to visit the area in the next year so will try a couple of the places you list.
Hey Mavis I am sure you will get to know and love your Jura machine I work with them everyday and I can make coffee with a Jura that beats most cafes. Dont know your model the F70 but looks like a Z5. You can adjust the grind and amount of coffee and water you use so extremley flexible and easy, just have to experiment. I roast my own beans sometimes only takes about 15 mins otherwise I use PURO Fairtrade Organic beans from ebay. Enjoy your Jura. Then start roasting.
Ken
Thanks Ken. Will do.
