With two colleagues I dined at L’angoletto at 71 Great Titchfield Street in London. The place was busy around 8.15pm this evening when we arrived but we managed to get an inside table. The restaurant seems to have space for 30 covers inside and another 12 if they use outside tables. The first thing we noticed was the prices seemed a little high, especially for the wine on offer. We assumed this was a sign of quality and good food so ordered up our fayre. I went for the garlic mushroom starter at around £6.00 and the sirloin steak selling for around £14. The house red wine was priced at £13.95. Others wines were priced between £15 – £26. My mushroom starter was good and I enjoyed it. My main however tasted a little fishy and like another restaurant recently visited, I guess they cooked it on the same grill pan as used for fish mains. The service was attentive and generally friendly, although one of my colleagues seemed to detect problems at times. We settled up and left around 9.30 having had our meal.
