I returned with a colleague to the Four Lanterns on Cleveland Street in London, Wednesday evening for dinner.  This restaurant became a favourite of mine last year and I would often find myself dining here with Evil Edna, always ordering up their famous Metze, which is simply devine.  Well cooked and fantastic portions, we were never disappointed.

Anyway, this evening I decided to try something different.  I opted for the vegetable soup starter and the peppered steak main.  While waiting, we sipped on a bottle of Aphrodite Wine, which as usual was very enjoyable.

The soup arrived and I was immediately impressed with the freshness and the fact that it contained real, chef prepared vegetables.  Not the usual watery frozen variety you so often get.  It was a meal in itself and having just returned for Cuba, where I ate very badly, it was a delight to be eating something so nice.

The steak soon arrived after our starter dishes were collected and it was cooked to perfection.  Medium Rare and covered in a freshly prepared pepper sauce, that did not overpower the flavour of the meat, I was a very happy bunny indeed.  Accompanied with a rocket and Parmesan salad and roast potatoes, I was in heaven.

The service was its usual friendly and attentive self and as normal you instantly feel part of the Greek family who run this place.

Highly recommend you give this a try.
