Last Tuesday had me pay a visit with some colleagues to Amarettos on Tottenham Court Road in London. Despite being around 8pm they were able to accommodate 10 people at very short notice, which was very good indeed. We took our seats and one of our number who is a regular here negotiated, that for every two people who ordered a starter and main, we would get a complimentary bottle of wine. So between us, the first five bottles of wine were all free and despite this, actually very drinkable indeed.
I ordered up my starter of mushroom and spinach, which when served, was presented nicely on the plate and well seasoned. For my main, I was feeling quite peckish, not having had time for lunch, so went for the loin of lamb. Again, it was nicely presented on a bed of mashed potatoes and vegetables and although the meat could have been a little more tender, I still enjoyed it all the same.
The restaurant was busy throughout our time there and despite this, the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. I would certainly go back again.
