We are now two weeks into the six week decorating plan and everything seems to be on track. The downside for us while still living in the house is the sheer amount of dust being created by the painter, decorator and chippy. We have given up trying to clear it up everyday and have resigned ourselves to living out of one room. Getting up, showered and dressed in the mornings sometimes proves to be a finely tuned piece of choreography. Hunting for clothes while running between rooms wearing nothing but our birthday suits and trying to get ready before the guys from Wall to Wall interiors turn up has been a close run thing on occasions. I’m convinced one of these days I’ll be found still in the shower when they arrive. With none of the doors having handles or locks, this could prove to be quite an eventful experience.
Anyway, the weekend is here now and I’ve done what I can to make to make the house habitable. All that remains is for us to find something to put up at the bedroom windows when the light falls, as the curtains are all now at the dry cleaners.
