We have been to this restaurant before and returned on Monday to celebrate Paul’s birthday. Although the restaurant is on the busy tourist spot known as the Shambles, it rarely has tourists inside because given it is up a flight of stairs, they generally don’t spot this fantastic little gem of a Sardinian restaurant.  You will note we have not included a picture, because we don’t want to give the secret location away.

We took our table at around 7:45 and were seated in this small 30 cover restaurant beside the middle window that looks over the famous Shambles below.  Although there were a few people sat at another table, they soon cleared and we found we had the restaurant to ourselves for the entire evening.  It was bliss.  The service from start to finish was professional, friendly and attentive.

Having ordered up our favourite Italian wine (Barberesco) we placed the order for our starter and main.  The food soon arrived and as usual it was excellent.  For the next two hours we had a unhurried, beautiful meal to the sounds of Italian music playing in the background. Ending with chocolate cake (we had put the calorie counting on hold), we finished off our meal with complimentary Italian brandies, we settled up and bade farewell to our convivial hosts.

We highly recommend this place, especially if your lucky enough to have it to yourself for a nice quiet romantic meal.  Perfect.
