The Sodehotel La Woluwe was to be my home on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. I arrived to find them putting up an enourmous Christmas Tree Arch around the main entrance which showed a touch of class. Checkin was quick and I dropped my bags off in my room before heading of to meet my colleagues. The room was large, but had a ’smokey’ feel to it. The bathroom although clean was small and the shower operated at reduced pressure.
The food at the hotel was very good indeed and the service both during our meetings and dining, was well delivered. The hotel reception was large airy and contemporary. Free internet enabled PC’s were available to use in the main reception area and the hotel had free WIFI access on every floor.
A nice hotel to stay at for both business and pleasure. (The receptionist was cute as well which always helps in my book)

La Vierge Noire in Brussels sits amongst the streets that during December play host to Winter Wonders, Brussels, Christmas Market. Having explored the markets, sights and sounds of central Brussels with some work colleagues it was time for dinner. Settling into this Art Deco, styled restaurant I was assurred of a good nights dining. The strikingly good looking waiter only added to the occasion. The folded linen napkins were crisp and welcome for someone who hates paper napkins (as many a regular reader will know) and the careful choice of selected white and red wines that accompanied each stylish course added a touch of class to the experience. The attentive (strikingly good looking) waiter kept my glass full throughout.
Clearly a popular place the Chef Omar El Karimi and pastry chef Jacky Ministeri have clearly built a winner.
I would certainly visit again and maybe next time, take my other half along to meet the (did I mention it already) strikingly good looking waiter.
